Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about MoH Arena, from account setup to match rules.

How do I link my game account to MoH Arena?

Log in with your Discord account using the Login button in the top navigation. Once logged in, go to the Link Game page. There you will find your auth token and instructions for submitting it in-game. Once linked, your in-game identity is tied to your Discord profile and all your match results will be attributed to you automatically.

How are match results and stats computed?

MoH Arena servers record a detailed match log as the game runs. When a match ends, that log is imported into moharena.com, which parses kills, deaths, headshots, bomb events, team result, and per-map score. ELO ratings are updated after import, and admins can review any imported match later if something needs correcting.

What is MoH Arena Guard?

MoH Arena Guard is an anti-cheat system and game launcher combined into one Windows application. It validates your game files and config against a published compliance ruleset, creates a verified session on moharena.com, and handles server authentication. Guard is not exclusive to MoH Arena servers; any server admin can add Guard support by including a lightweight custom .pk3 file.

Is MoH Arena Guard mandatory?

Guard is required to join protected servers, including official MoH Arena competitive servers. Open and casual servers do not require Guard, but we encourage all community members to install it so they can access the full competitive environment. Guard only inspects your Medal of Honor game folder and config files.

How does the ELO ranking system work?

MoH Arena uses a modified ELO system where each player starts with a base rating of 1000. After every war, ratings are adjusted based on the match result and the relative ratings of the opposing teams. Winning against stronger opponents gives more rating points; losing to weaker opponents costs more. The formula also weights individual performance alongside the team result.

What is picmip and what is the maximum allowed?

Picmip is a graphics setting in Quake-engine games that reduces texture resolution, making enemies easier to see against busy backgrounds. MoH Arena caps picmip at 2 to keep the visual playing field reasonably level. Values above 2 are not permitted in competitive play and will be flagged by MoH Arena Guard.

Do I have to stream during every match?

No. Streaming is no longer mandatory. MoH Arena Guard handles anti-cheat compliance automatically, so there is no need for manual stream verification. You are still welcome to stream on Discord, Twitch, or YouTube.

Which maps are allowed in competitive play?

The standard competitive map pool includes classic MoH:AA Spearhead maps such as Destroyed Village, Hunt, Stalingrad, Gewitter, and Flughafen. Custom maps may be used by mutual agreement of both teams. The current season map pool is listed in Discord and updated at the start of each season.

How are teams made for a mix?

Teams for mixes are balanced automatically by ELO, GOAT ELO, FPM, nation, or random selection using the MoH Arena mix system. Captains can also manually draft if both sides agree. The goal is fair matchups.

How do I join a mix?

Go to the want-to-play channel in Discord and indicate you want to play. When enough players are available, a mix organiser can open a lobby on moharena.com/mix and share the link. Join the lobby, wait for teams to be set, then join the Discord voice channel for your team.

What happens if someone leaves mid-game?

If a player disconnects mid-match, the match continues and the result stands. If a team is left with fewer than the minimum required players, captains can agree to pause up to 10 minutes for a reconnect. If no reconnect happens, the team may forfeit or both teams may agree to a rematch before the remaining rounds are played.

How are disputes resolved?

Bring disputes to an admin in Discord with evidence such as screenshots, stream timestamps, or a match ID from MoH Arena. Admins will review and make a final decision. Do not argue disputes in public channels.

How do seasons work?

MoH Arena runs quarterly seasons: Winter from January to March, Spring from April to June, Summer from July to September, and Autumn from October to December. Season rankings are frozen at the end of the season and archived permanently. GOAT ranking accumulates across all seasons.

How do clans work on MoH Arena?

Clans are groups of players with a shared tag and identity. Verified players can create clans from their profile page. Clan members can challenge other clans to clan wars, which are tracked separately from individual mixes. Clan pages show roster, war history, and win-loss record.

What is the GOAT ranking?

GOAT, Greatest Of All Time, is the all-time ranking that accumulates across every season MoH Arena has data for. Unlike seasonal rankings, which reset, GOAT points are earned permanently and reflect a player's total contribution to competitive MoH over time.
